Keep in tightly closed container. Antique patina is a mildly acidic solution. Avoid exposure to skin and eyes. Protective clothing, gloves and a face shield should be worn when using. In case of contact, flush skin and eyes with plenty of water; for eyes call a physician. Do not ingest. Use in a well ventilated area.
Preparation:
1) If necessary, a suitable cleaner should be used to remove oil and soil. Rinse with water.
2) Oxides should be removed by abrasion or in MultiEtch or a mild sullfuric acid(5%) bath. Rinse very well with water and dry.
3) The finish may be relieved by brushing or polishing to produce a variety of antique finishes.
Directions: Antique patina is a concentrated liquid for producing antique colors on copper, brass and bronze. Color formation is dependant upon both time and concentration. The solution may be used directly from the bottle for very dark, fast develping colors. It may be diluted with 3-5 parts water and will require 1-2 minutes to develop the desired color. The work may be immersed in the solution or it may be applied with a brush or swab. |
